A landmark report that documents the chronic emotional stress caused by structural racism is published.
Date: 2007
Fleda Mask Jackson writes the report "Race, Stress, and Social Support: Addressing the Crisis in Black Infant Mortality," and names racial disparities as a "likely" source of health risks for many Black women. In the report, Jackson draws links to: "physically demanding jobs, a lack of control in the workplace, single parenthood, financial worries, and racial discrimination" (GSU, n.d.) as primary root causes of chronic stress.
