In The Kallikak Family, Henry Herbert Goddard argues that "feeble-mindedness" is inherited and leads to the development of "degenerate" behaviors, such as alcoholism, criminality, sexual promiscuity, and sex work.
Goddard believes that the incarceration of people he calls "feeble-minded" would prevent their reproduction and decrease "bad blood lines." Goddard's work will be part of the logic used by Hitler to build his strategies of developing a "pure" Aryan race.
