Adverse Childhood Experiences study findings are first released.

A two-year study on how childhood experiences are linked to adult physical and mental health conditions finds that adverse childhood experiences have a direct correlation with chronic illness, early death, perpetration of violence in multiple forms, and so on.

This will lead to an increase in "trauma aware" physical and mental health services.

Early Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) studies are "race neutral," however, and only focus on individual experiences of harm rather than taking systemic conditions into account.
