Doctors begin prescribing hormone treatments to "normalize" cisgender youth.
Date: 1940s
Doctors beign to prescribe hormone treatments to boys considered "too short" and girls considered "too tall" for their age.
Throughout the second half of the 20th and beginning of the 21st century, puberty blockers and other forms of gender-affirming care such as electrolysis hair removal, hormone replacement therapy, and breast augmentation and reduction will be predominantly used by cisgender people (people whose gender identity aligns with their sex assigned at birth) despite widespread policies that will focus on limiting access to this kind of care for trans people.
