Hitler was not initially appointed chancellor after his success in the July 1932 elections, despite being leader of the largest party in the Reichstag. It takes widespread economic and political instability that two other chancellors fail to stabilize, and the support of the conservative elite to convince Hindenburg to appoint Hitler.
Hitler is sworn in as chancellor of Germany on January 30, 1933. The Nazis, with their eugenicist agenda, are now in power.
