After the act passes, railroads and government agencies make a concerted effort to encourage U.S. citizens, as well as Europeans, to migrate to the Midwestern territories. European immigrants with the intent to declare citizenship and farm land for five years are offered 160 acres of territory stolen from Indigenous communities.
