Increase in local philanthropic foundations committed to eugenics.
Date: 1928
The eugenics movement grows exponentially within philanthropic efforts in the 1920s and the following decades. The Charles F. Brush Foundation for the Betterment of the Human Race is founded in 1928 to advance eugenics research, and will eventually lead to the Ohio Race Betterment Association. The Human Betterment League will be founded in 1947. It will promote the eugenic sterilization of people with mental "illnesses" and disabilities.
