Kinyoun brings techniques back with him from his visits to Europe, including a procedure for preparing diphtheria antitoxin for vaccination. Diphtheria is one of the largest killers of children in this era. His lab is located in the Marine Health Service Hospital in New York, a hospital funded by and for the military.
