After Recy Taylor, a Black woman, is kidnapped and raped by six white men, the white legal system in Alabama fails to take up her case. Rosa Parks and others organize the Justice for Ms. Recy Taylor campaign to bring the issue of the rape of Black women into broader public awareness. The campaign is seen as one of the sparks for the Civil Rights movement.
