Loophole in the Pure Food and Drug Act discovered.

In United States v. Johnson, the U.S. Supreme Court rules that the Food and Drug Act does not prohibit false therapeutic claims, but only false and misleading statements about the ingredients or identity of a drug. In other words, as long as the ingredients listed are accurate, there is no legislation over what a manufacturer says about the combination of ingredients and their impact. This loophole will be addressed the following year.
