To filter by a particular topic and see a smaller section of the data, make a selection on the dropdown “Filters” menu or click “Search” to do a keyword search. Hover over the abbreviated filter tags in the blue boxes to see the complete name of the filter, or click a filter to display all the data with this tag. President Taft directs funding towards tuberculosis prevention and care for Native communities.

Up to this point, very little funding has been directed towards Native health, although many policies have been passed. The President asks for $253,000, and while Congress does not approve the full amount, the conversation about Native health moves more prominently into public conversation. Funding for Native healthcare will continue to rise annually until World War I, when it will be almost completely cut back.
