Reports emerge on the Atomic Energy Commission's radiation experiments on incarcerated people.
Date: 1970
For over a decade between the 1960's and the 1970's, the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) conducts radiation experiments at the Oregon and Washington state prisons, to understand how much radiation astronauts can withstand during space travel. The experiments include subjecting over 130 inmates to injections of radiation into their testicles.
