Despite being primarily aimed at Black consumers, Jewish women and other women with olive-toned skin buy skin lightening products in this era. This reveals the complexity of the Anglo-supremacist ideal of whiteness as translated to immigrant communities. In the coming decades, this trend will continue amongst Latinx and other non-light-skinned communities.
