At this point, homeopathy is the most popular form of formal health care across the United States in both rural and urban communities. The American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) becomes the first medical association in the country to organize care providers. Soon after, the American Medical Association (AMA) will form as a response. Shortly after the founding of the AMA, all physicians who are also practicing homeopaths will be asked to leave the association.
