The American Medical Association (AMA) apologizes for its "past history" of racial inequality toward African-American physicians.

They also use this public apology platform to point to an increase in "minority" physicians within the association. The National Medical Association (NMA), which is the oldest African-American physician organization, formally accepts the apology.
