The act prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, national and ethnic origin, religion, family, marital status, disability, or pardoned offense.

Furthermore, "disability" is defined as: "any previous or existing mental or physical disability and includes disfigurement and previous or existing dependence on alcohol or a drug."
