The book is a collaboration between white settler James Mahoney and Richard Foreman, a healer of Scottish and Cherokee descent. It includes anatomical descriptions; advice for diet, exercise, and maintaining one's emotional well-being; and traditional herbal remedies for a wide range of conditions, including kidney stones, infections, ulcers, cancer, asthma, and reproductive concerns.
