The Chinese Exclusion Act is repealed when China becomes an ally to the United States in the war against Japan. The Magnuson Act permits Chinese nationals who are already living in the U.S. to become citizens. It also allows Chinese residents and citizens in the U.S. to send money to their family members in China.
However, the act places a quota on the number of Chinese immigrants, permitting only 105 per year to enter the U.S., and it does not repeal or change any restrictions of immigrant communities from other Asian countries.
