At the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary, which is the site of many experiments, 50 incarcerated people are used as test subjects for a new malaria drug.

Dr. G. Robert Coatney of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) declares this drug to be an "apparent cure." The drug is developed by Parke, Davis & Co. of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
