The European Common Market is established after World War II in order to unite Europe and reduce tensions between former enemies. The market, which is also known as the European Economic Community (EEC), ties European countries together economically and politically via economic integration.

The original treaty signers are Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.
