Hover over the abbreviated filter tags in the blue boxes to see the complete name of the filter, or click a filter to display all the data with this tag. The institute is a response to the emerging conversation on social inequalities in medicine. Porter (2006) writes: "The aim of the institute was to integrate medicine into research on social inequalities, which would inform the training of physicians to become, in Winternitz's words, 'clinical sociologists.'”
