The Kinsey Report becomes the first account of the prevalence of homosexuality in American society.

The report's findings include that 37% of males and 13% of females have had at least some overt homosexual experience to orgasm.

Its publication completely shifts the public conversation on homosexuality, bringing it more fully into the mainstream. The report, however, primarily polls young white college-educated men and women, and almost completely leaves out people who are living in poverty and/or are People of Color.
