The National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum (NAPAWF) is founded by 157 women after female Asian American and Pacific Islander activists based in the U.S. gathered at the 1995 United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and recognize collectively that their work is not "linked or sustained in a meaningful way back home in the United States."

According to their website, central themes in their work include issues related to: "civil rights, economic justice, educational access, ending violence against women, health, immigrant and refugee rights."
