As surrogacy becomes more heavily legislated in the U.S. and Europe, and as costs rise, people begin traveling to find surrogates outside of the U.S.
This includes a rise in trafficking, as women who are living in poverty are trafficked as "gestational carriers" for wealthy foreign women. Fertility tracking also shows a race, culture, and religious preference, with U.S. white folks going to the Ukraine, and other poorer European countries, in order to "secure" a white baby.
