With momentum escalating towards the United States entering into World War II, attention is directed towards building up the national blood plasma bank. This results in experiments to mutate animal blood for human use. Overall, the testing fails to find an animal blood alternative, but it does inspire the launch of blood donation by community members as a form of volunteerism.
