Between 1940-1970, cocaine prohibitions will become almost universal. The United States' interest in cocaine prohibition is connected in part to the desire to end coca economies in order to encourage a focus on building the economies of poorer countries towards providing goods and services that are deemed useful and necessary for U.S. economic growth.
