To filter by a particular topic and see a smaller section of the data, make a selection on the dropdown “Filters” menu or click “Search” to do a keyword search. Hover over the abbreviated filter tags in the blue boxes to see the complete name of the filter, or click a filter to display all the data with this tag. Following the passage of the Civil Rights Act, which outlawed workplace discrimination on the basis of other identities, Congress begins to consider protections against ageism in employment. The Age Discrimination in Employment Act is passed in 1967, forbidding employment discrimination against people age 40-65. Future amendments will raise and then eliminate the upper limit.
