Child factory workers are impacted by many of the thousands of industrial accidents.
Date: 1900s
Industrial accidents kill 35,000 workers and severely wound 500,000 each year in the early 1900s. "Long working hours for children also meant that accidents were more likely to occur; like adult workers, many children were injured or killed on the job" (Encyclopedia.com). There are no systems of employer responsibility to provide compensation for medical costs.
