To filter by a particular topic and see a smaller section of the data, make a selection on the dropdown “Filters” menu or click “Search” to do a keyword search. Hover over the abbreviated filter tags in the blue boxes to see the complete name of the filter, or click a filter to display all the data with this tag. Dr. Roman, a Black physician and former head of the National Medical Association, calls on doctors, lawyers, and teachers to: ‘‘battle with the avatars of prejudice who have entered the arena of public discussion to serve cast and discrimination under the banner of Medicine." He says: ‘‘conduct and conditions, not race, are the determining factors in disease and death. Nature is impartial as well as inexorable" (Patterson, 2008).
