The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trades (GATT) is a multilateral agreement regulating international trade that is signed by 23 countries in 1947.

GATT, which is the precursor to the World Trade Organization (WTO), continues to build the economic power and alliances between countries in the Global North as they exploit labor and extract resources from countries in the Global South.
