After the "The Color of Violence: Violence Against Women of Color" conference at the University of California, in Santa Cruz, the organizers see a need for longstanding organizing around issues of violence against Women of Color and found INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence (now known as INCITE! Women & Trans & Gender Non Conforming People of Color Against Violence).

INCITE! will begin leading campaigns and political actions and distributing political toolkits while organizing INCITE! chapters nationally and internationally. The INCITE! Chapters will build liberatory actions to interrupt law enforcement violence; build the Boycott, Diversity, Sanction Movement against Israel's occupation of Palestine; and generate movement strategies for community accountability against structural, communal and interpersonal violence, including gender violence, racial capitalism, & militarism.
