Oxford philosopher Julian Savulescu advocates for a "liberal" eugenics.

In a TED talk, Savulsecu claims that humans have a moral obligation to biologically enhance our species in pace with scientific advances. He calls this a "liberal," consent-based form of eugenics.

Savulsecu believes that humanity as a whole can "decide" to "enhance" our species. He promotes an unspoken ableist idea that "who" and "how" we are is not enough, and that we should aspire to something "better"–advocating for a kind of "cure" for who we are as humans.
