According to their website, the Gay Asian Pacific Alliance (GAPA) forms in the Bay Area, California to: "organize, integrate and nurture a growing gay & bisexual Asian and Pacific Islander (API) identity and to foster positive role models within our communities."

GAPA is now known as the "GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance."
